Empowering Early Career Teachers: Inquiry, Collaboration & Mentor Development: Cycle 1 Meeting #2

Mon, Dec 8, 2025, 4:30 – 6:30 PM PST
Online

Objectives

  • Enhance Professional Growth & Reflective Practice – Provide a structured environment for new teachers to set growth goals, engage in focused inquiry cycles, and develop reflective teaching practices that support retention and long-term growth.
  • Foster Collaboration & Mentor Development – Create opportunities for cross-site collaboration, as well as to practice coaching skills to support the development of future teacher mentors.

During Meeting #1, participants will spend time reflecting on their teaching practice and the CSTPs in order to develop a professional growth goal that will be the center of their focused-inquiry cycle. Participants will then form small groups with other participants and will be introduced to a few resources around coaching conversations that they will engage with throughout the rest of the cycle.

During the Check-In Meeting, participants will discuss their progress in planning their focused inquiry cycles, and will practice supporting other group members with a Planning Coaching Conversation.

During Meeting #2, participants will practice supporting other group members with a Reflection Coaching Conversation that is centered on the data that was collected for their group member’s inquiry cycle. Participants will then have a chance to reflect and ask questions based on their experiences using the coaching conversations.

Participants will receive up to 7.5 hrs of academic hourly pay for each inquiry cycle.

Participants who complete 2 cycles will also be eligible to register and earn 1 unit

from CSUF.
